  • print the adapter
  • slot the long part together
  • lay the long parts on the long side of a 45l Samla box from Ikea
    • pay attention to the angle - the part wall should follow the box wall exactly
    • the recess should point upwards
  • place the short parts in the recess
    • wall angles should also meet nicely
  • drill all holes through the parts and box bottom
    • press gentle against the box walls while drilling
  • screw the parts with metric m6 bolts - i just had them on hand - to the bottom
  • cut out the bottom aligned to the parts - or may be better with 2-3mm or 1/8" overhead
  • place the filter with the felt sealant pointing to the box opening in the resulting frame
    • should fit snugly and tight

  • print the inlet-drill-template
    • it is just a template, reduce features in your slicer as far as possible
    • it is required to get the fit of the fan holder right
  • place the template in the slots on the side of the box and align on top
  • drill a hole in the box
  • repeat on the other side if you plan to use two fans like i do
  • use a 121mm hole saw in reverse to create the main fan holes

  • print the fan parts
    • they are included as a Prusaslicer project as they use a stamp-modifier to print without top and bottom, and defined infill for the prefilter case
  • put prefilter fleece in the frame and clip the lid in place
  • screw fan holder, pre filter and 120mm fan together
  • remove or loosen the screw beneath the fan hole
  • put the thick lip of the fan holder on the opening and gently press the other side of the hole on the small lip
  • reattach the screw

  • print and use some samla clips to keep the lid closed
    • I use https://www.printables.com/model/131601-never-lost-ikea-samla-clip-45l-65l-v2/remixes
  • print the feet
    • included as a Prusaslicer project as i adjusted the infill density on top
  • clip on the feet
  • adjust your fan speed according to ( not my content! )
