Feline Pine Litter Box Hack

This hack won't make any sense until you watch this: How to Clean a Litter Box - EASY, EFFICIENT, and INEXPENSIVE!

The lady used wood blocks in the video. I decided to make some nice shelf hooks instead. You will need one of these Arm & Hammer Large Sifting Litter Boxes and some 13 gallon or bigger trash bags.

Installation

The hooks have little notches in them to lock in place. To install, align the notch with the support extrusions underneath the lip of the pan. You start with the hook almost upside down. Then gently push with an up-and-over motion to wrap the hook over the lip of the pan. It may take a little bit of effort. Go slow and apply firm, but steady pressure and it'll pop into place. I suggest starting with the front hook since it's the shallowest and easiest to get in.

Usage

I've tried this method out for over 2 months and it has worked beautifully. It takes about 15 seconds to sift all the pine dust down to the pan. For poop, I usually scoop it and then lift the sifter with one hand and then manually throw the poop into the collection pan below. Pine pellets are very odor absorbing. The system usually lasts about 10-14 days before I have to change out the bag. My cat is an 11lb cat. Your mileage may vary depending on size and quantity of cats.

Pro Tip: Print 2 sets for quick and easy swaps.

Note - This system does raise the height of the litter box and some cats, especially older ones with joint problems may have problems using it. If you want it lower, PM me and I can make a lower version.
