Update

The bolts that secure the barrel to the front of the Djinn were incredibly hard to get in place. Version two of the barrel middle should make that step a bit easier. You may need to drill out the holes for these bolts as well. Sorry for any issues this may have caused.

This is made for the Talonaxe Armory, Detroit Dart Works and Old Fusion Designs Djinn. I designed this a while back so that I could build Skeleton Key. This was my first large cad project so some of the tolerances aren't perfect. Its not the easiest install but once its on its a solid mounting point for all of your tacticool gizmos. It was made in Tinker cad so I do not have STEP files.

Printing

I recommend 3 or 4 walls with 30% infill.  You will need a printer with a build volume of 256mm*256mm*256mm for the top rail. In total it takes about 400 grams of filament. The front sight has a hole for your choice of filament for a fiberoptic look.

Hardware

You will need an assortment of M3 bolts and heat set inserts.

These are the parts I used.

Assembly

Tools

  • Small Pilers
  • Side Cutters
  • Allen Keys
  • Soldering Iron
  • Tweezers
  • 7/64 drill bit or larger

Begin by installing all of the heat set inserts into the barrel middle part. Now mount the bottom and side rails with 10mm bolts. If needed drill out the three holes that the 20mm bolts run through. Remove the old Djinn front plate and top rail. Line up the barrel middle and back with the front of the Djinn. Now push the 20mm bolt into the top hole. It will take some time but it can be tightened with precision pilers. Now you can screw the other 2 20mm bolts into the holes on either side. The top rail can now be mounted with the remaining 10mm bolts. Push the sight piece into its slot. Screw the front plate on with the 3 12mm bolts. At this point you can chose to add some filament in the sight piece. Hopefully that wasn't to painful.
