The second, improved version of my original hangable filament waste bin, inspired by some IKEA wall organizer boxes that I saw once.
Improvements
- Sturdier back that does not warp
- Tighter fit for the lid
- Additional, deeper version: 100mm (vs 80mm)
- Inner rim around the opening, keeping the filament inside
- Symmetrical lid design
- Mount hook optimized for no supports printing, and easier mounting
The bin can be easily removed when you need to empty it, and it stays firmly in place when hung on the mount.
The mount can be glued with a double-sided adhesive tape, or fixed by two screws.

- 150 x 85 x 81.4 mm (smaller, “80mm version”)
- 150 x 85 x 101.4 mm (bigger, “100mm version”)
Tolerances
- Lid: 0.05mm
- Hanger/Mount: 0.20mm
The lid fit is tighter than to prevent it from falling out, so you can play with the XY size compensation if your printer requires wider tolerances.
Measure the exact diameter of your filament and set the actual value in the filament profile to prevent over/under extrusion, and ensure a proper fit.
