I have upgraded a fair bunch of Ender-3 style 3D-Printers in my time. for this i have designed some 3d printable upgrade parts that suit my needs better than what was available. this is a collection of all those parts if you want to use some of them yourself.

This file contains:

  • a larger electronics case with options to mount up to a 80mm or 90mm fan
  • BL-Touch style probe mount (offset (for stock ender-3 mount plate): x -45, y -17)
  • dual 5015 fan shroud for stock Ender-3 and Ender-3 V3 KE ceramic hotends
  • direct drive adapter for stock, dual gear and BMG clone extruders. (normal = mount on metal spacers, direct fit = mount on M5 screws)
  • direct drive adapter for BMG clone extruders for Ender-3 MAX.
  • extension feet for mounting the PSU below the printer when adding a 2nd z axis
  • psu switch enclosure if the stock shroud does not fit between the printer legs
  • spool holder
  • extruder wheel/indicator
  • v-slot attachment plates for raspberry pi etc
  • TPU Spacers/Feet Pads

An additional file contains an alternate variant of the direct drive adapters for BMG extruders. these are designed to be used with pancake steppers and all but the Ender-5 variant require you to bend the PTFE tube after the extruder. this reduces the total pushing force of the assembly, but will lower weight and increase rigidity of the bracket. it looks wrong but it works.

it is recommended to print the direct drive adapters and spool holder with 4x walls and high infill.

i have printed the hotend shrouds out of PLA for myself and used them for months without issues. however you may run into problems if you print materials above 250C and/or without part cooling.

most of these designs can be printed without supports.
