This is used to uniformly insert cam seals on the Volvo T5 engine (B5254T3).

This was designed specifically for the B5254T3 (2005 Volvo V50 T5). This will likely work for many of the same year 5 cylinder Volvo engines.
I've designed this so that you can regulate the amount of depth needed by setting the desired center bolt tightness. This allows it to be used on different variations of the engine relying on the installer to set depth. Use the bolt that holds the cam sprockets in place. I'd recommend lubricating the edges of the seal to prevent binding as suggested in the service manual.
The pictures included of the seal sitting in the tool are of the old seal that was removed. It was warped due to removal. A new seal will sit level in the tool and should stick out roughly the same amount see in in the pictures.
Notes about the printing process:
- I would NOT print this with any material that is prone to warping (ABS, Nylon, Etc). It's critical that the cam seal be inserted squarely into the recess.
- I used 10 walls, and 90% infil to ensure rigidity - probably overkill.
- PLA should work fine if you set infill and wall count appropriately.
As with all things critical to engine tolerances, use this tool at your own risk.
