A large doorknob stop, to prevent damage to walls by inward-opening doors, including exterior doors and solid-wood fire doors. Big enough to cover most doorknob holes, if there's already some damage; also scales down well if you want something more subtle.
Designed in two parts: a rigid outer frame and a flexible energy-absorbing core. The frame is PLA or PETG (or whatever else you prefer), while the core is meant to be printed from TPU.
The TPU core is designed to be printed “topless” so that the internal infill (I chose hex) shows. However if you don't like the aesthetic, you can also mount it with the smooth, bed side of the print facing out into the room. Printing both “topless” and “bottomless” will make for an even softer and more energy-absorbing honeycomb, but will show the frame if you are looking right down its axis. You may wish to play with the infill and wall parameters of the core based on your needs.
The TPU core is friction-fit into the frame, so that it's removable if damaged over time, or if you need to access the mounting screws (which are hidden behind the TPU). It was designed with 0.005" clearance, which on my Prusa leads to a nice fit that stays in place, even when hit by a door.
