You know you want one - a highly detailed miniature moka pot, for fiddling and general amusement. With removable filters and funnel, central thread, and even a working lid, just like its metallic bigger brethren. Good for one, or even two millilitres of coffee, if only the PLA could stand the heat. (Spoiler: it cannot - at least not the grade I used. However, it has been done, amazingly.)

Printed in PLA with a 0.4mm nozzle, at 0.05mm layer height and fairly low speed, in aid of detail. This is a rather challenging print - not for the faint of heart. You have been warned. A very well-calibrated printer, with excellent first-layer behaviour is highly desirable. Because we strive for accuracy, rather than printability, you will require supports all over the show, but at least at this miniscule scale the waste is negligible. One has to be careful when removing the supports, though, because most walls are but one extrusion wide.

The pin fixing the handle to the upper body also functions as the hinge for the lid - this is the only part not printed. Instead, after cleaning the holes with a 0.6mm drill bit, a piece of thin wire is pushed through the holes, and snipped to length. If you are worried that it might fall out, you can secure one end of it with the tiniest drop of CA glue.

The handle and the knob on the lid should be black. And indeed I printed the handle in black PLA, with everything else in silver. For the knob one can do a colour change to black at the correct height when printing the lid, but then you have to print it on its own. Or, you can whip out your flask of black nail varnish, and make it so, as I did. Also I cheated with the pressure release valve: it should be made of brass, but instead I used an acrylic pen to paint it.
