Are you a fan of the AeroPress but wish it was bigger? Do you own multiple AeroPress devices but are hesitant to buy the more expensive AeroPress XL? Then the AeroPress Extender’a’tor is exactly what you need!
With the AeroPress Extender’a’tor, you can connect two AeroPress units together to create a larger coffee maker. This way, you can brew delicious coffee for multiple people, all from just one machine!
The Extender’a’tor works with both the original AeroPress and the AeroPress Mini. When used correctly, none of the 3D-printed parts come into contact with coffee grounds or hot water. However, make sure to use a stable, sufficiently large pot to ensure the AeroPress stands securely. Use at your own risk!
3D Printed Parts:
Recommended material: PETG
Connector
Connects the two AeroPress bodies. The lower body is inserted and securely pressed into position. The upper body is attached to the connector via the Aero Press twist mechanism.
Clamp Ring
Clamps the lower AeroPress body to the connector. It is connected with the knob and an M5 x 40 (hex head) screw.
Knob
Ensures that the clamp ring is securely fastened.
Important: The M5 nut should be inserted here during the pressing process. Insert a stop command at layer 100 (layer height 0.2 mm), place the nut, and continue printing.
Plunger
The AeroPress gasket is placed here. The plunger is pressed down with the handle and the rod.
Handle
Connected to a M6 x 260 mm threaded rod with 2 M6 nuts. A 10mm wrench is required to secure the second nut on the handle.
To complete the rod, attach the remaining two M6 nuts with washers at the other end of the threaded rod. This allows the plunger to be pressed down.
Inverter Base
For those who want to use the AeroPress Extender’a’tor in the inverted mode. Insert the plunger into the assembled AeroPress Extender’a’tor and place it into the Inverter Base. The Inverter Base provides additional stability and allows the entire AeroPress Extender’a’tor to be flipped.
Additional Parts:
- 1x Threaded rod M6 x 260 mm
- 4x Nuts M6
- 1x Washer M6
- 1x Nut M5
- 1x Screw M5 x 40 (hex head)
- 2x AeroPress
Usage Instructions
1. Assemble the connector and rod. Place the AeroPress gasket onto the plunger.
2. Insert the lower AeroPress into the connector and slide it to the marked position — do not fully tighten the knob yet.
3. Place the upper AeroPress onto the twist lock and tighten it slightly.
4. Press the lower AeroPress against the upper AeroPress and fully secure it using the knob.
5. Firmly tighten the upper AeroPress using the twist lock — this ensures a tight seal without the need for an additional gasket.
6. Use it like a regular AeroPress: either directly over a cup or inverted with the inverter base.
