This one looks better without the flat base. Without the base the stand badly warps and becomes unusable. Especially with the Borg Cube being such a heavy model.
The connector on the top is a cone to make a better fit. The models these are meant for get work down and deform over the years. By using a cone, there's less surface area but it will grab the ship better. It can always be sanded down for a better fit.
Printed this on my Mars 2, 2k resin printer. Was fine.
