If you have the courage to void your warranty and open up the T1000-E (very well glued and epoxied) case, this is a new case to add USB-C. I've found that heat gun + slow prying was the best approach to opening mine.

The end result is more chubby than the original, at 100x60x9.3mm. I've tested with slimmer designs but there's no way to get the same rigidity from a 3d print than the original casted part.

The 2 halves slide together and there's a friction-fit pin that holds everything together. It's on purpose longer than needed: insert and cut.

I've printed the “led cover” in transparent PETG, but I'm guessing that white PLA would be translucent enough as well.

I'm using this commonly found USB-C breakout board: amazon.com/dp/B0CB2VFJ54 They includes the 5.1k CC1 and CC2 resistor needed for proper USB-C charging.

From top to bottom, the pads on the PCB are: +5V (VBUS), D-, D+, GND
