A mounting mechanism to mount the HTC Vive 1.0 base station to a drop ceiling.  The mount works with the original 1.0 base station ball joint but requires printing a new screw cap.  I'm not sure how standard drop ceilings are but mine has 1 inch rails.

Printing

No supports required.  I used PLA but I don't see why PETG or something similar wouldn't work.  For the part that clips onto the rail I printed it on the shorter open side with a brim to help hold the ball joint in place by not removing all of the brim

Assembly

The ceiling mount itself has one slightly shorter nub so you should be able to put the longer nub on the rail first and snap the shorter nub around the rail, but it does require a pretty decent amount of force.  I made the tolerance a little on the looser side so that it was easy to slide off the rail piece to move around easily.  Once the weight of the base station is added it stays put, but some glue might be needed if you really don't want  it sliding around.

This might work with the 2.0 base station if it uses the same ball joint but I don't have one to test.
