This is the shell and controller mounting hardware for the Steadywin GIM6010-8, an 11Nm quasi-direct-drive BLDC robotics motor. This is a very affordable motor for its weight-to-strength ratio. Buying it as a bare motor reduces the weight even more and gives you the option to use other modern controllers.
If you want to learn more, I've written a couple articles comparing this motor to the CyberGear, and how the motor performs with various controllers.
To construct this motor you'll need both M2.5 and M3 screws as well as threaded inserts to secure them with (check the diagram). These are the kits I used:
- M2.5 screws
- M3 screws
- M2.5 threaded inserts
- M3 threaded insert kit (this includes more sizes than you need for this model)
Included are also simple mounting brackets that attach the following controllers to the back of the motor:
- Tinymovr R5.3 (works best and can achieve the motor's full torque potential)
- ODrive Micro (limits the torque to only 4.8Nm)
- MJBots Moteus C1 (I couldn't get this controller to drive the motor)
