This is a simple cup for storing spices like garlic or other small items. It is not air tight, so it is only useful for short-term storage of spices or to store items that don't need special conditions.

Note: if printed in orange it also works well for storing pumpkin seeds.

Printing

The design is in the approximate size of a real garlic bulb (about 6cm wide and high), so you need to scale it up to make it useful (unless you want to store something really small).

It consists of a cup and a lid. Print both in their original orientation, but the lid will need bed supports. The PrusaSlicer project (3mf file) already contains correct settings - you simply need to adjust the scale to your liking.

The pre-sliced GCode for MK4S and MINI+ contains a version scaled to about 10cm wide (150%). Don't forget to remove the supports from the lid after printing.

FreeCAD Design

I included the FreeCAD (version 1.0) design in case you want to modify it.

The actual shape definition is in the “Templates” group: the hollow body is in “Body Bulb” - the main feature is the additive loft defining the “garlic" like shape, bottom plate and top stem are made by two separate revolutions. If you want to change the appearance you need to manipulate those features.

The “Body Top Volume” defines how the hollow body is sliced into cup and lid - change its properties to modify the exact position of the cut.

The two actual “Body Cup” and “Body Lid” bodies are simple clones of the “Body Bulb” template which were then combined with the “Body Top Volume” in a boolean operation to do the slicing. They happen mostly automatically without the need to modify them. The “Body Lid” contains an additional lip to make the lid easier to print and use - you may need to modify this lip (a simple revolution) if you change the template bodies.
