Tried to find a cheaper internal heater solution to help my Bambu Labs X1C maintain a higher internal chamber temperature for printing PA, PC, ABS, ASA, and PET. I live in a sub-tropical climate and my printer is in our garage. Temperatures in the summer can bring the garage up to 30C - 32C, and I would measure around 40C internal chamber temperature on those days printing ABS, PA, and PC. With one heater added, I could bring up the internal temperate to about 48C - 50C, and with two heaters I could get it up to 55C. I also found that adding a thermal barrier on top of the glass lid helped with insulation and I was able to achieve the same internal temperature (~55C) with a single heater and the build plate at 100C (ASA). I did not add any internal insulation.
Printed in ABS. Used painted tree supports under the lip opening (see picture).
On the second heater, I cut out a slot to allow the build plate to move easily.
