Working with the 3DMouse Compact is more difficult than expected, as you have to make sure it is always aligned on the table. Even small rotations can make it difficult to work.
With the larger models from 3DConnexion, the actual 3D mouse is permanently integrated into a base. In my experience, working with these is much easier. But they are also more expensive.
You can easily integrate the mouse into the base I created and thus always have a secure alignment.
I would recommend TPU as the material. However, any other material will do. If necessary, glue a few rubber feet underneath.

Standfuß für 3DConnexion SpaceMouse® Compact
Das Arbeiten mit der 3DMouse Compact gestaltet sich schwieriger als gedacht, da man darauf achten muss sie immer ausgerichtet auf dem Tisch liegen zu haben. Schon kleine Drehungen lassen einen beim Arbeiten verzweifeln.
Bei den gößeren Modellen von 3DConnexion ist die eigentliche 3DMaus fest in einem Fuß intergriert. Das Arbeiten ist mit diesen, nach meiner Erfahrung wesentlich einfacher. Aber eben auch teurer.
In den von mir erstellten Fuß kann man die Maus einfach integrieren und hat so imme eine sichere Ausrichtung.
Als Material würde ich TPU empfehlen. Es geht aber auch jedes andere Material. Dann ggf. noch ein paar Gummifüßchen unterkleben.
