WARNING: ADD THIS TO YOUR BLASTER AT YOUR OWN RISK, READ FULL DESCRIPTION!!

ONLY ADD THIS IF YOU WANT TO TRAIN DRYFIRE AND ARE COMFORTABLE WITH SLIGHTLY HARDER WEAR ON PARTS. READ FULL DESCRIPTION AND THE ORIGINAL MAKERWORLD POSTING!!

I originally stumbled upon this device on Maker World, but its safe dryfire properties caught my eye. It seems to work in the sense that it reduces the force of the plunger by simulating the resistance of a dart. Note that this device might wear on parts long-term, which is why you should only use this device with full metal/delrin plungers and bolts. In that respect, it is dryfire safe long-term, but it does not reduce the sound of the spring and changes the tone of the plunger strike. In use, it still feels like you are firing a dart, but no pop at the muzzle, of course. It also prints support free.

What did I do to this model?

I liked this enough to adapt it to the BCAR mounting solution used by TofuKat's 5xR BCAR and others. I typically like to use an extra o-ring between the barrel and device to make sure it is fully sealed.

I started using this on my SBL-H MOD 1 with a full metal bolt and delrin plunger, and I have no fear of damage, but I understand that it will probably wear slightly more than firing a dart, because, DUH, it is not actually firing a dart. I have no fear because I know someone who has run an SBL with the same upgrades for over 10k rounds without long-term damage. I see it as a good training device without the cleanup of 100s of darts.

To those that do use this, it tonally sounds similar to unprotected dryfire, but to that I say d*ck up and train. It sounds a lot punchier at the shooter's ear, but I use earpro, and that take care of it.

v1.3 is longer and v1.2 is shorter

v1.3 exists to give the mount more space on the barrel

Hardware:

-Same o-ring from the BCAR mount

-Optional etrxa 16mm OO x 3mm o-ring for the barrel seal
