This 3D-printed attachment mounts directly to the top of the XTool D1 Pro Laser Head and allows for effective smoke extraction without needing an enclosure. That’s a huge benefit, especially when using the extension kit — it saves a lot of time and hassle.

Installation

The process is simple: just remove the fan cover from the top of the laser head and screw this model into place. It’s designed to fit neatly around the air assist attachment, so air assist remains fully usable. There’s also a guide for the hose so you can manage the hose just like when using the original fan cover.

Hose

This attachment is designed to work with a 25mm hose, which slides onto the top and holds itself securely without any additional accessories, but you could use a jubilee clip if you want to.

My Setup

I have the extension kit so used 3 metres of hosing so it can reach all of it, I used this hose and got the 25x31mm variant. I used a 5 inch centrifugal fan, I used a diameter reducing part to reduce it down to 25mm, it still retains good suction over the 3 metres of hose, it is enough to remove smoke but isn't too strong so is still safe to use and it will not suck what is being cut or anything near to the laser head. I then used flexible ducting to take the smoke outside of my garage. I also used a smart plug with energy usage detection on the laser and a smart plug on the fan so it only enables when the laser uses power above a threshold and then will turn itself off when done.
