This is a  refresh of one of our earliest models, the classic space mega-figure published in July of 2024 which is based on the classic space figure originally released in 1979.

This figure was available in red and white when initially introduced, and has been updated with new colors numerous times over the years.  The latest colors will be gold and teal in the upcoming vending machine set - so we decided to use those colors for our makes of this design (but the color can be easily changed to any you prefer).

The updates to this figure include using our own version of the base mega-figure (more on that below) and an update to the chest logo to better align with the original design.  We're including parts to print this figure in both 500% (mega-sized) and 250% (action-sized) scale.

One of the things we've been working on is our own version of the base mega-figure which we're planning to use with a series of completely custom figure designs in the near future.  This design will require a minimal amount of supports in a few spots when printing, but will greatly reduce the amount of glue needed when assembling (glue is only needed for the air tank and to attach the logo to the torso).  This design should also hold up to wear and tear over time when printed in PLA when compared with the base mega-figure design we're currently using. We used the classic space figure when testing / tweaking this work and liked it so much that we decided to share it here.

All of the stl files needed to create this have been included in the "stl files" folders below.

For those with Bambu printers, there are Bambu project files located in the “Bambu Projects” folder to simplify things even further.  These files contains the parts in an ideal orientation for printing.  Parts that need painting have been painted in this file as well.  Note that you will need BambuStudio to open or work with these.

All the accessory parts were taken from thal72's Printables profile and scaled to 500%. He has a massive library of brick parts available at this location.  If you wish to do any additional customization to this figure, this is a fantastic resource to find additional parts.  Special thanks to him as well for sharing this work!

Lastly, the spaceman logo used in this design can be found here.  Thanks to jwhangsta for sharing this!

If you decide to print this, we'd love to see it.  Please post pics of your makes, and please consider liking this design by clicking the "like" link above.

Happy Building!!
