Simple tool to quickly refocus your laser cutter if it lacks other means of automatically setting its Z height.
No need to put anything under lens, so no risk of ramming!
Just add an M3 bolt (at least M3x6) and two M3 nuts and set desired height.
How to use:
- Focus your laser on a piece of stiff material in whatever way you did before.
- Hang Fred from the gantry using its slider.
- Lower Fred so his foot firmly touches the material while hanging from the gantry.
- Fasten the bolt.
- Whenever you want to refocus your laser on different material thickness, hang Fred from gantry over the material again and lower Z to the point when it simply falls over.
