You can use this universal joint to attach a filament sensor to the frame of your 3D printer. It gives you 2 degrees of rotational freedom, so it won't put any extra stress on the filament or the Bowden tube or the tool head.
You can use some of the parts I am providing to attach this to anything that requires such type of motion.
Additionally, the small cylinders that are used to provide the axial rotation should be printed with care, so make sure your printer is tuned properly. I would suggest you use ABS or PETG.
I have used heat inserts to attach this to the back plate designed for “BTT Smart Filament Sensor - SFS V2.0", but since I am providing the model, you can modify it to use a self-tapping screw or maybe nut-recession to use an M3 nut.
