This is the first open source spinner for generic ultrasonic cleaners.
The main purpose of the project is to help clean records as deeply as possible.
It's the first design to actually let the cavitation work by pausing the motor on different time intervals. The reason I designed my own was to avoid moving the record constantly, although I did add it as a side feature for those who still like that.
It has four different cleaning modes:
1. Move 10degrees every 66 seconds, rotating the disc 181,8 degrees after 20 minutes
2. Move 10degrees every 33 seconds, rotating the disc 181,8 degrees after 10 minutes
3. Move 10degrees every 16 seconds, rotating the disc 187,5 degrees after 5 minutes
4. Move at 2RPM
Features
- Allows cavitation to work by pausing the rotation
- 3D printed
- Minimum hardware requirements
- Original models for FreeCAD provided (so you can modify and export them as STLs)
- Support for different types of cleaners. Use the “thin” motor mount for Vevor cleaners.
Required hardware
- 6 liters ultrasonic cleaner
- ATTiny85 micro-controller (and a way to program it)
- A push button (normally open)
- A led
- Magnet strips to insert in the mount grooves, so it stays in place
- Three resistors: 430, 1K and 10k
- 28BYJ-48 stepper driver, modded to be bipolar
- L9110S DC motor driver
- 5V from a power supply
- 6mm linear shaft (as long as your cleaner width)
- 608zz bearing
- Basic electronics knowledge and A LOT of patience
Check the pictures to understand the pieces you need.
There are a few variations to the kind of washing machine you own. So make sure you print the right support.
