handheld pool skimmer with sword handle

Here is a small handheld pool skimmer I created with some added fun for the handle. It is the "Sting" hobbit sword from Lord of the Rings. I used a slightly rescaled version of DuncanMac's file here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5530207 . The skimmer "basket" is about 6" (150mm) square. I used ~0.5 mm thick aluminum window screen material cut to size. The inside "ring" simply snaps into place and captures the screen material, as shown in my crude cross section drawing. I noticed during assembly the screen was able to move more than I wanted and added some thumbtacks to prevent this. You could also glue all the parts together. The .stl file contains both the outer part and the inner ring, but for most printers these will need to be separated into multiple prints. Also, the handle will likely need to be cut to fit it on the print plate. See attached picture for how I did this for my print. I used PrusaSlicer to cut the parts and add a connector so I could glue the two parts together. I printed in PETG.
