Highly recommend testing a small section before printing the full thing. To get the letters to fit on my printer, I had to reduce horizontal expansion by 0.2mm for the letters only. The main part is printed at default. Got a nice snug click while inserting letters this way.
I used 4 walls since I was using white filament in hopes to hide some of the infill lines. Review my photo to decide whether or not it was worth it. I also printed all the letters upside down so elephant's foot doesn't affect insertability. No ironing on the letters, ironing on the main print.
Included my test fit file for anyone that wants to test fitting an insert before investing 15+ hours into this print.
Only issue I have is that the game cases are actually quite a bit thinner than this model expects, so they flop to the side. Regular DS cases fit perfectly, then I added the 3DS clip model to shrink the gap. These are held in by tension, printed at -0.02mm horizontal expansion, like the letters.
If I were to do this again, I'd probably make the clip gap a little smaller because they still wiggle a little bit. Much better than before however.
