I've designed a cold laminator using two aluminum rods. Each rod houses two press-fitted ball bearings through which a threaded rod passes. The rods are held together by two springs mounted on the threaded rods, providing consistent pressure between them.
To improve grip, I added a self-adhesive neoprene rubber strip around each aluminum rod. This enhances friction and ensures better hold when feeding material through the rollers.
The mechanism works best when the rods are aligned carefully and the spring tension is balanced. Ideal for cold lamination of stickers, paper, or other flat media.
Printed parts should be made from PETG or similar material to ensure sufficient strength under pressure.
