The Volkswagen Golf Mk7 or Mk7.5 does officially not come with direct TPMS (RDKS). To retrofit this option, you need to mount the sensor under at the bottom rear side of the vehicle. I chose to mount it on the left rear bottom side of the vehicle, onto the bumper bar. This way, I could route the wires into the vehicle via one of the rubber grommets nearby.

The sensor I used is the 5Q0 907 273 F, which I mounted on the bracket using M5 bolts ( 30 mm), washers and nylock nuts. I mounted the bracket using an M8 hex bolt (30 mm), two washers and another nylock nut to the bumper bar. In order not to damage the protective layer, I also printed a M12-to-M8 ring, which will fit the 12 mm hole and the bracket (for alignment). You have to fiddle this ring inside the bumper bar first, then the M8 bolt with the washer. See the attached pictures for more information.

I was able to feed this ring through the bigger hole next to it. I also printed a small key to secure the M8 hex bolt from inside the bumper bar, because you cannot reach it with a regular spanner.

Print settings:

  • Flat part down
    • This needs to be the strongest part, the side walls are for alignment and protection only.
  • PETG/ABS or ASA (something temperature-resistant).
  • 100% infill.
  • Use brim to ensure part does not wrap.
  • Drill the holes to size (there is no tolerance included).

Printed this on a Bambu Lab X1C with eSUN ASA black. This bracket was installed on a Volkswagen e-Golf Mk7.5, which had plenty of room under the vehicle.
