Din mountable Teensy BOB enclosure

General:

A simple Din Rail Mountable Teensy controller enclosure for the Teensy BOB breakout board.

Options included for cutting your own openings for ethernet and screw terminals, or for pre-cutting your own manually, in case you don't have ethernet, or want to leave some terminals blocked.

Why I designed this:

I designed this to protect my new Teensy 4.1 CNC controller breakout board

Printing notes:

• Layer height: .2 or finer
• Recommended Material: PLA or better (make sure you match to your temperature requirements)
• Supports: None
• Infill: N/A
• Walls: 3
• Other Modifiers: N/A
• Material Quantity: ≈50grams

I printed from PLA on Centauri Carbon at .2 layer height with 15% gyroid infill (but infill isn't used for these thin walls).

Cautions and updates:

Don't overtighten the screws.

Assembly Notes:

Install the din mounts with 4X M5 screws (button head or socket head cap screws)

Place the screws into the lid, place the board on the screws, then carefully install the lid and thread the screws into the mounting bosses. It is easiest to do this with the whole assembly on its side.

You could also try to line up the board and then place the lid, but this can be trickier than it sounds. I will be updating this post with tabs to line up the board at a later date. 

You could also use this without the lid by replacing the 4X M3X40 with M3X5 screws and mounting the board directly to the bosses, as I have done for the photos (since a closed black box is boring).

Bill of materials:

• If using the cover and din mounts: 4)M3X40mm flat head cap screws and (8)M3X5mm SHCS or BHCSs

Updates:

6-28-25 Added slots to the holes over the screw terminals, and more bosses for mounting the board before installing the cover. These make it a whole lot easier to use, and I apologize to those who downloaded the original without these features.
