Symbolizuje sluneční kotouč. V názvu je jasně slyšet jméno Svarog, jméno boha kovářství a pravděpodobně i stvořitele světa. Později byl zastíněn Perunem, který postupem času převzal jeho místo nejvyššího boha. Svarogův syn Dažbog (Svarožic) byl bohem slunce.
