Poppy Playtime Handheld GrabPack – Improved Remix

🛠 About This Remix
This remix introduces several improvements over the original design, focusing on appearance, durability, and ease of assembly.
✋ Redesigned Hands
The hands have been redesigned to look closer to their appearance in Poppy Playtime. The original hands were too thin and flat, so I gave the new versions more volume and a more realistic shape.
The downside is slightly higher filament consumption, but the improved appearance is worth it.
🔩 Improved Spring Mechanism
The spring mechanism has been redesigned for better durability and easier assembly.
Reinforced sliding mechanism: The part to which the springs are glued has been modified to provide better adhesion.
Improved spring attachment: The redesigned parts make positioning and gluing the springs easier.
Better print preparation: The included 3MF project contains predefined modifiers to reinforce critical areas.
🎨 Parts Organized by Filament Color
All parts are separated and organized by filament color, making it easier to prepare the model for printing and plan your filament changes.
🖨 Printing Instructions
I recommend using the included .3mf project file.
It contains predefined print settings and modifiers designed to improve the strength of critical parts. These include:
Reinforced walls around the screw holes in the hands.
Solid infill in selected areas where additional strength is needed.
Other localized adjustments to improve the durability of the assembled model.
Open the 3MF file in your slicer and check that the modifiers and print settings have loaded correctly before slicing.
If you prefer to use your own settings, you can print the individual STL files separately, but you will need to configure the necessary strength reinforcements yourself.
🔧 Assembly Instructions

1. Print the Parts
Print the individual components according to your chosen filament colors. For the easiest preparation, use the included 3MF project.
2. Assemble the Main Body
Arrange the front and rear housing components, rings, and connecting parts in the correct order, following the exploded-view images.
Make sure the parts are aligned properly before gluing or fastening anything permanently.
3. Assemble the Spring Mechanism
Position the sliding part inside the housing and attach the springs to the designated mounting points.

Use a suitable adhesive and allow it to cure fully before testing the mechanism. Check that the sliding part can move without catching on the surrounding components.
4. Attach the Hands
Connect the hand assemblies to the ends of the mechanism and check that the mounting points are secure.
Avoid forcing the parts together. If a printed component does not fit, check for printing imperfections and carefully remove any excess material.
5. Fill the Screw Hole in the Palm (Optional)
If you want a cleaner finish, use the included filler piece to cover the screw hole in the palm.
Apply a small amount of suitable adhesive to the filler piece.
Insert it into the hole and align it with the surrounding surface.
Allow the adhesive to dry completely.
Sand the area carefully until the filler is flush with the palm.
This produces a much cleaner appearance, as shown in the photos.
6. Final Check
Before using the model, check all glued joints and moving parts. Make sure the spring mechanism moves freely and that all components are securely attached.
📸 Assembly Reference
Use the included exploded views and assembly images to understand the component order, spring placement, and final arrangement.
The images are intended to complement the instructions above, especially when assembling the internal mechanism.
