Introduction
I wanted to reuse my budget-friendly Tapo C110 camera, which I originally bought for the MK4, with my Prusa Core One. This custom case allows for easy mounting in one corner of the printer, similar to the Buddy3D camera setup. It is secured using three 2×10 mm magnets.
Camera Compatibility
The case is designed for the Tapo C110. It might also fit the Tapo C100, but I haven’t tested that. I’m also unsure whether the camera will tolerate the long-term heat inside the enclosure—use at your own risk.
Assembly Instructions
To extract the camera from its original housing:
- Pry open the glossy black front to access the internals.
- Carefully remove the camera module including the PCB.
- Disconnect the speaker wires.
Once removed, the camera can be placed into the new printed case and closed with the included lid.
Printing Tips
I printed the case in PETG to withstand higher ambient temperatures compared to PLA. Depending on what you're printing, this may be important. No supports are needed. A brim is optional and may help with adhesion.
