I got a new dryer that has a sensor for air flow. It says my line is really clogged.
I have a long line with too many turns to get a brush working well, so I thought I would make something I could drag through to help get as much lint out as possible. This is what I came up with.
This is 3.5" in diameter, my line is 4" (which I think is standard in the US?). This allowed for some play to get through a couple turns in the line. I put this in line with my brush pieces and printed a few of them. They seemed to help, though I know I still have quite a bit still in the line - it has gotten packed in over time, and even with the teeth on this guy I can only get so much.
Anyway, thought it might be useful to someone else. Oh, and about the name, I was told this type of thing is called a “pig” and when you drag or force something through a pipe to inspect it or clean it out it is called “pigging out the line” - I had never heard this, but found it fitting since I printed my test pieces in pink.
My test prints were in PLA+, gyroid infill at 40-50% (I didn't want this breaking in the middle of the line). No supports needed, sized to fit my cleanout stick pieces (as shown in picture).
