If you do not need this extended version (→need for more than 111,4mm wide label backing paper), I recommend to print the standard version linked above as it is a less challenging print.

This is a machine that will help you separate the label from the backing paper and automatically apply it onto your beer can. This model supports labels from rolls with a minimum width of 58mm and a maximum backing paper width of 141,4 mm. This is a somewhat challenging build as it consists of many parts, but a really fun one as it works far above my expectations.

See the attached video above for more detailed explanations on assembly… in the video is the standard variant being assembled, but the principle is exactly the same..

The labels are fed through the machine and as you pull on the backing paper the label separates and will be automatically applied to the can - consistently, and dead straight.

There are at the start 4 different label width inserts included in the .STL package. The inserts are tailored for the exact width of the backing paper that you use. The insert is quick to print and can easily be switched out for another one by loosening 2 screws. The width options included from the start in this package are 78mm, 90mm, 105mm, 111,4mm.

This project has taken many many hours and design iterations to complete, so I hope that all the “flaws” have been ironed out. I have run more than 600 cans (and counting) through the machine and I am completely thrilled how well it works.

Having that said I am happy to receive ideas for improvements (trust me I'm already working on it as well, but it is very minor updates at this stage). Version 1 was never public but went out to about 20 testers with good feedback.
