Case for Filament Samples - Heavy Duty

A place to store and display your filament swatches. This parametric designed filament sample box was originally designed for holding filament samples designed by Seemomster - https://www.printables.com/model/228249-filament-samples-42-materials (original design by Zahg - https://www.printables.com/model/16322-filament-sample-with-box ). The parametric design means that this filament sample box can hold any rectangle style filament swatches.

The included models here are for samples with approximate dimensions of 80 mm x 35 mm x 2.20 mm. I have included three sizes that will fit well on a variety of printers up to 250 mm x 250 mm bed dimensions.

• 35 Slot Box (pictured)
• 45 slot box

This design has been tested and printed with great results. The tolerances are such that the lid will fit on the box with a slight friction fit, preventing the lid from falling off even with rough jostling or even being flipped over with a full set of samples.

Print Settings as Printed:

• Top Layers: 5
• Bottom Layers: 5
• Walls: 5
• Infill: Rectilinear Grid
• Infill %: 15

These settings were chosen to give the box a little extra heft. Default printer setting will typically produce a more than acceptable part. 

I have included a Fusion 360 archive of the file for use to make custom box sizes. Here are the relevant Parameters:

• sampleQTY

I experienced some bugs when adjusting the file past the base quantity of 50 slots, but it is possible to make larger boxes if desired. Saving and reopening the file seems to resolve any issues with the geometry and references.
