I originally designed this wrought-iron styled chandelier for my daughter's murder-mystery party that was set in a castle. I then exhibited it at the 2025 Rocky Mountain Rep Rap Festival (RMRRF). While I got a lot of compliments on it, I was still surprised by the number of people that wanted to make one for themselves. There was enough demand that I committed to loading it on Printables.

First, be advised that this is not a model for novice printers. There are a lot of parts and they are large and will warp if your printer and filament are not properly tuned. The parts also connect via dovetail joints that may need to be filed/sanded for proper fit. (Mine fit together as printed, so it is possible!)

The final Chandelier is 32" diameter and 6" high, not including the chain or the candles. It will require 2,400 grams of material to print everything. I printed mine in PLA, but really any material will work.

Printing and Build Instructions:

  1. Quantities
    1. Walls: 12
    2. Towers: 6
    3. Joint-Hook: 3
    4. Joint-No Hook: 3
    5. Shields: 6
    6. Swords: 6
    7. Union-Chain: 1
    8. Chain Links: 70 links (minimum)
  2. I printed the Walls and Towers with “lightning” infill to save material and make the total  assembly lighter. All other parts were printed with 30% infill for strength.
  3. Supports are NOT required for the Walls, Chain Links, Shields and Swords. Enable supports for other parts. (I used organic supports)
  4. Print the Joints on their sides as downloaded.
  5. I included two shields. One with a Celtic Cross (as in the photos) and one that is blank so you can add your own design or crest.
  6. Glue the Swords to the front of the Towers and the Shields on the front of the Joints.
  7. To assemble, insert a Wall section into a Tower. Push the Wall section through until the dovetail is through. Slide another Wall section onto the dovetail and push the Tower forward to cover the joint. Continue this process, alternating between Joints and Towers until the entire Wall section is complete.
  8. The Towers and Joints have holes in the top for a #8 drywall screw to be installed down into the wall sections.. I found that I really only needed the screws in the Joints. The Towers stayed in place through friction.
  9. The chains links are printed separately and then slid together at the joints in the center of each link to make the chain. I used 20 links for each of the three connector chains to the Union and then 10 for the vertical chain at the top of the Union. You may want to use more depending on the final look for your space.

Candles: I bought these rechargeable Tea Lights from Amazon. They have a remote that makes them easier to turn on and off.

Thank you to Peter Ennist (@PeterEnnist_759682) for the Celtic Cross that I used on the Shields, ErLollo (@ErLollo_366226) for the Sword and Jack (@Jack) for the Chain Links!
