On my TradRack I have it mounted to the top of my ender3, the shaking and force coming from the buffers was causing the filament to walk forward or backwards in the lane modules. Causing it to either jam the selector carriage during lane selection, or cause the filament to walk back and not be grab-able by the selector.

This adds a little levered friction pad to hold the filament against the cavity wall to help hold the material from moving.

Its lined up with part of the selectors carriage arm to reduce some of the pressure on the filament while printing and loading.

You might need to play with different filaments and hardnesses to get a good “friction” action. I have TPU or some Wood filled pla depending on how grippy I want it.

Instructions:

  • Print Parts
  • Put a piece of something springy in the selector piece, I used some 92A TPU.
  • Insert a piece of material on the L piece. I used 92A TPU or an abrasive/grippy filament.
  • Assemble 2 pieces!

Known issue:

  •  Tolerances are kinda Tight/Sloppy they work for me but could be tuned much better.
  • The motor releases a little of the pressure on lanes to the left. Still seems to work well enough.
  • the Right most unit will need something to hold the brake in place. I just have a bypass/no mmu lane there without a brake installed.
