Adds a simple grip to your camera (assuming you already have a camera cage).

Features a cold-shoe on top (remember to remove the sacrificial layer), and two ¼" 20 threaded inserts for mounting lights or microphones.

Multimaterial is optional. You can also choose to use Fuzzy Skin. My recommended settings for multimaterial are included in the 3MF.

IMPORTANT: You will need to pause the print at the appropriate layer height to insert the screw.

Required Hardware:

Printing Instructions:

  • Ideally, use a rigid material (ABS, PETG-CF, etc)
  • Lots of perimeters…. 6+ (for main part of the body), but only 2 for TPU parts.
  • No supports necessary except for the tiny alignment pins
  • Import Front Grip, Grip Body, and Rear Grip together as one object.
  • Multimaterial is optional, but recommended, particularly if you are using CF materials for the main body.
  • Remember to pause for the bolt insertion, and monitor the print, as there is a risk of collisions!
  • Beam Interlocking recommended to hold the materials together
  • See 3MF for print settings.

Assembly Instructions:

  • Print the parts, inserting the screw mid-print
  • Add appropriate sized Heat-Set Inserts in holes (should be self-explanatory, or just see the CAD).
  • Optional: Add M3 Inserts + Grub Screws to the Screw Handle, insert into the hole in the arm, then force it onto the screw with flat heat screwdrivers. Tighten M3 Grub Screws.
  • First, tighten the screw onto the camera body. If you're not using the screw handle, you can use a long Allen key or driver through the hole long hole in the arm
  •

*The photo is of an early prototype, and the attachment part is much bulkier in the final version, but you get the idea!
