I wanted a simple way to store my extra build plates under the printer but everything out there was pretty complex.  This design has 4 slots for build plates (could double up in each slot if needed) and raises the printer up by about an inch. The existing feet on the printer sit in some small recesses on the top side.

There is only one correct way for the parts to go together and you will know pretty quickly if you get it wrong. The dove tails ended up a bit tight, even on my X1C, so you may need to gently persuade the parts a bit with a rubber mallet.

The dovetails should not be visible from the curved outside sides.

Install them under the printer such that the combs are in the front and pointing to the interior.

When you put your first bed in, the distance should self adjust if its a bit too tight.

Print Recommendations:

  • PLA is fine
  • 3+ Perimeters
  • 10% infill
  • Supports needed (USE SUPPORT BLOCKERS!!)

Suggested areas to block supports shown in red:

The “All” 3mf and STL has the parts reoriented to fit on an X1 or P1 printer. This is really the only file you need but I went ahead and uploaded the parts individually as well.

I took inspiration from JAV3D but designed my system from the ground up. I don't believe this counts as a remix but the resemblance is enough that I wanted to give credit to them.
