Conex_GOOGLE_NEST_Thermostat_Mount_v5
I have this Conex (shipping container) that was converted to an office. Has solar, batteries, inverter, and is insulated for weather (drywall and all).
I needed a good thermostat for the inside.
I selected a Google Nest. Very happy with it. Very flexible for programming. I needed a way to keep people from tampering with it. The existing thermostat cable was pulled thru a blue Carlon double gang box.
So I designed a back-box mount that would screw into to the double gang Carlon box. Used 2” long 6-32 socket head cap screws (McMaster CARR).
Google Nest back plate mounts to my new design (ver-5) and also allows locking box to be mounted over it. I incorporated extra large air vents in the base (6 total).
