Blackboard wall support

I needed a blackboard for my studies, but since I'm cheap, I decided not to buy one, but to build it myself!

To do so, I used a 3 mm thick MDF board that I painted with special chalkboard paint from Action (as I said, I'm cheap). However, I would recommend using something thicker, less flexible and more resistant to water.

Anyway, now I needed a way to mount it on my wall, so I designed these pieces.

Print these without any supports, but with quite a few walls (3/4), in PLA or a stronger material. You can then glue these pieces to the board with super glue. To mount it on the wall, you will need to fix some screws with their heads sticking out. Thanks to its geometry, you can orient your blackboard vertically or horizontally if you place the screws and printed parts correctly. For me, two screws were enough and made installation easier.

The corner pieces help to protect your board if you want to place it on the ground. These can be printed in TPU to absorb shock and prevent the chalkboard from sliding.
 

Printing settings :

• Use a stiff material such as PLA, PETG or ABS for the mounting pieces.
• A flexible material like TPU is best for the corners, but this is not mandatory.
• Three to four walls.
• No supports.
• Use the auto-orientation setting in your slicer.
   

Instalation precisions : 

• On both sides of the board, ensure that the notches are facing the same way.
• To be able to orient the blackboard horizontally and vertically, ensure that the space between the pieces on the same side is equal to the width of the board minus 4 cm, so that the holes for the screws form a square.
