These are playfield rail covers I designed for my Bally Flash Gordon restoration. Playfield rails are always chewed up and have holes or knots in them. I thought maybe rail covers would not only add a nice cosmetic touch to the overall "black out" theme I was going for in this restoration, but it would also aid in smoother playfield action when needing to slide and lift it into the service position.

The rail covers cover both top and bottom and sides for a complete fit. They're snug enough that no glue or tape are required for them to stay on during use, and they can be pulled off easily. Due to the length of rails needing to be covered, and the limited size of my X1C print bed/plate, I had to break up the design into multiple pieces.

Included in this posting are all of the STLs needed to make a complete rail cover set, plus a Bambu 3MF file that has the complete set plus the two tray pieces with the Flash Gordon logo embedded.

No supports needed.  I used PLA+ filament and default settings in Bambu Studio.

CAVEAT #1
While most Bally solid state pins from 1978 to the early 80's are more or less similar, it's unlikely that these will fit your pin exactly (even if it's a 1981 Bally Flash Gordon like mine).  Length, height, and depth of the cabinet's rails can and do vary from pin to pin.  Some titles even have different rail configurations altogether.  You will likely have to modify my STLs to some degree in order to make them fit your pin.  I'd recommend printing out a test set, see how closely they fit to your rails and, if need be, make your size adjustment(s) to the STL(s) and try again.

CAVEAT #2
The snug fit allows for it to be installed without glue or tape making it easy to revert back to the original look without the covers.  However, if your cabinet interior is painted, the snug fit may cause some of the paint to flake off if it's not sealed or clearcoated.  Having touch up paint for your cabinet interior handy is recommended.
