Marking the top of your cam pin helps to keep it in the same orientation after assembling and disassembing the bolt carrier. This will reduce wear and prolong the life of the part. This jig makes it easier to hold the cam pin flat n' steady and also has an arrow indicating where to mark the pin in the correct spot.
The inexpensive Neiko punch is what I use to make this job easy, but a scribe will also work if you already have one handy or want to get fancy.
