This is the belt that is used in the MOAB and can be disassembled e.g. by a delinker-mechanism

The belt works great for a Blaster like the MOAB that runs through a lot of ammo, especially since the used up belt is disassembled and doesn't hinder the user in its mobility. Also it looks awesome :-)
The belt consists of two parts, the MShell and the MLink.
MShell
The shell is designed for nerf elite darts and tested e.g. with XURU X-Shot airpocket darts. Alternatively two half-length darts fit too, but then they do not accelerate that well / consistent then. Also four 0.5'' foam balls fit too, making the blaster to a auto-shotgun (but the balls are flying pretty slow…).
Printing of MShell
Material: PLA
layer height: 0.2mm
walls: 2
infill: 20%
no support/brim required if you have decent bed adhesion
I added .stl-files with multiple closely arranged shells, with that you get the most out of your printbed
I recommend to print the first 3mm in a different color than the rest, to make reassembly easier
MLink
The link is to connect two shells to each other. The shell is ‘clicked’ into the link.
Printing of MLink
Material: PLA
layer height: 0.2mm
walls: 6 (for maximum strength)
infill: 100% (for maximum strength)
I recommend to print the first 2mm in a different color than the rest, to make belt reassembly easier
stl-files
MLink_Single: single MLink.stl
MLink_Split: split up to efficiently use support material that is easily removable from the parts. In a batch of 22 MLinks.
MLink_SplitBase.stl: first 2mm of the MLink, printing it in a different color makes it way easier to reassemble the belt.
MLink_SplitTop.stl: rest of the MLink
MLink_SplitSupport.stl: This is the only thing you need as support material. E.g. if you print your links in PLA, you can use PVA/BVOH/PETG here and desupporting is easy.
This only works well, if you have a printer that can swap materials automatically (12 filament changes required)
Also its important, that on material swap, the PVA is flushed out well, else the next coming PLA will not be as strong as it could (breaks easily)
support: either the “Split”-solution or use normal support to fill the gaps between the links (as the MLink_SplitSupport.stl does too)

Compatibility
If you don't have a MOAB yet, you can check if the belt parts you printed are compatible with MOABs by doing these checks: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DRzUYwCDBb-/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
Version
This is version R2.0a, to the final R2.0 release of the MOAB KIT there shouldn't be any changes…
That being said, here is R2.3 😉:
removed version-markings from the design (at least this version will have NO marking at all, for future version I add some kind of marking to make it possible to distinguish them)
For the links, removed the slopes to the "clamps", this makes it easier to print support material. This might reduce the strength of the "clamps" a bit, but easy printability is more important in this case.
Added TDL_ToolDelinker.stl: This tool allows easy delinking of the belt and removal of darts.
Comment
There is (beside of the reassembly work) one drawback: It might be difficult to mechanically push the dart out of the shell into flywheels. The opening on the bottom of the MShell is big enough for the air to accelerate the dart out, but it might be too narrow for a mechanical pusher, so that the pusher only presses into the rear opening of the dart instead of pushing the dart out...
BTW the MOAB KIT will be released soon, there you can buy the parts to print the complete MOAB yourself: https://moab-kit.gatlingtommy.com/
