Laundry Detergent Spigot Lever

This single-piece attachment makes dispensing laundry detergent effortless — ideal for anyone who finds the small rubber button on top of the spigot hard to press.

It’s simple, quick to print, and works exceptionally well. Unlike other designs, it delivers true one-handed operation with a smooth pinching motion. The fixed lower lever and pivoting upper lever work together to press the spigot button without tipping the bottle — even when the jug is nearly empty, a common flaw in other solutions.

This version was custom-designed to fit the Downy jugs we use. It may not fit every brand, so I’ve included a reference drawing with the key spigot dimensions (the green feature is the mounting point) to help you check compatibility with your bottle.

If you need a slightly different size or shape, send me the dimensions shown in the drawing along with a few photos from different angles, and I’ll see if I can adapt the design for your specific jug.

I printed mine in PLA, which provides more than enough strength for regular use. My print settings: 0.4 mm nozzle, 0.15 mm layer height, and 10% infill — a good balance of speed, material efficiency, and durability.

To use: Simply slide the attachment onto the green feature as shown in the animation.

Note: If you need an opposite-handed version, simply mirror the part in your slicer before printing.
