Football keychain

Cute football keychain European style. This is an easy print and assembly. The football has a diameter of 3.5 cm (1.38 inches), the perfect size for a keychain. Technically you print the two halves of the football and than glue them together after inserting a thread. An alignment helper part is available which makes it easier to align the two parts. Then you glue the 12 five corner black segments into the holes.

Print these items once in a white color or in any other color for a more fancy looking football:

Items to print part 1 - football and alignment helper

Print the football parts (upper and lower half and aligment helper) in a white color, if you would like to have an original football. Choose any other color for a more fancy football.

Items to print part 1 - segments

Print 12 of the segments "Football segment 5corners V1.stl". On the picture I have printed anough segments for 5 footballs.

Assembly part 1

Now you should have the two halves, the alignment helper, 12 of the segments and also a thread for your keychain. There is a hole in the football for the thread to go through. Add a knot to the thread as shown on the picture.

Assembly part 2

Glue the alignment helper to the bottom half of the football. This makes it easy to correctly align the lower and the upper part. Put glue onto the areas marked in green. Also put glue onto the knot to prevent it from opening once trapped in the football.

Assembly part 3

Add the upper half. Remove access glue with a cloth. If you have something to press the football together, you may want to use it till the glue is dry.

Assembly part 4

Carefully glue the 12 segments into their slots. Remove access glue with a cloth.

Assembly part 5

Once you have added all the 12 segments, let your football rest till the glue is dry. Your football is now ready for use as a nice keychain.
