Bearings on my Honda Miimo HRM300 front wheels went out. So made new wheels with printed bearings. Works like new!

This wheel is made specifically for the Honda Miimo HRM300. As far as I know, HRM500 is identical. Can work also on newer models??

Prepping the old wheels:

Tip! See pictures for clarification.
- Remove the front wheel construction from Miimo (wheel + bent metal rob).
- Remove plastic wheel from metal rod. It is very straight forward: Unscrew, remove clips remove parts
- Now you should have only the bent metal bar in your hand. My old bearings were so rusted that they had welded themselves to the rod. All old bearing pats need to be removed!

Printing:
- Print the wheel and bearings. I suggest PLA as it is very slippery compared to other plastics. Do not use PETG as it is super sticky. I believe bearings will die quite fast.

Installing:

Note: Use generously grease! Grease everything for prolonged life. I need to confess that I didnt put any grease on my other wheel. It has been working the whole summer but it is squeaking. The greased wheel is quiet like a mouse.

  • Put the wheel (Rengas.stl) on the metal rod
  • Take a bearing (Tukilaakeri.stl or Tukilaakeri2.stl, they are both the same) and try if it fits. Mine had small elephants foots so needed to trim those first with my exacto knife. See pictures for orientation.
  • Insert one bearing and push it in with a screwdriver or similar. It is a very tight fit and the wheel might not rotate freely yet
  • Do the same with the other bearing
  • Close the bearing hole with the cover (Paallislevy.stl)
  • Take one/some of the old metal washers from when disassembling the wheel and insert them on top of the cover. Then seal the deal with one of the old securing pins. A small nail works also
  • Voila! You have reviwed your Miimo!! Dont mind if the wheel is very sticky to rotate. After some mowing it will start to rotate freely.
