I know many will look at this and scratch their heads asking: “why did he put it there? it will fall of on first landing” - the thing is I'm not doing much landing or jumping for that matter. The bicycle with that round fork I used on family trips with my kids, where the dad (me) needs to carry the water for kids - now I have 2 extra water bottle mounting points and that much less in the backpack.

I hope people will find this useful enough and maybe mount other things as well as water bottles.

Parametric

The deign is parametric - meaning that you can go to where I designed the part. And choose the diameter of your fork - the default is the 42mm of a RockShock. The design will add 0.2mm of tolerance - if you put 42mm you will get a 42.2mm internal diameter hole.

(see the top left corner for the input)

Once you are happy with the sizing, simply export the two files and slice them.

Assembly

You might want to wrap your bike with a tape (like “electric tape”) that will prevent the fork from being scratched.

Pull the nuts in the two parts. Then clamp the parts on the bike, screw them together with the M5 x 20mm screws. That's it.

Print instructions

Print in the orientation the files are exported in. The parts are designed to be printable quickly with a 0.3mm layer height but you can go lower if you'd like that. I gave mine 3 x 0.45mm width perimeters and 15% infill - they are strong enough. PETG is probably the best option here.

Don't print with PLA as it will loosen over time.
