My father-in-laws camper's fridge+oven combos' knobs were giving out, with one of them completely broken already. So he gave me one of the remaining intact ones to model a replacement part for him. There are a few similar models around already, but they don't seem to have such a long rod part, so they obviously wouldn't fit.

I modeled these to be close approximations of the original part. Especially with the round sections there are some hard-to-copy differences, so they probably only look nice if you swap them all out. I imagine sanding and polishing them would make them look even nicer, too.

Printing instructions

My FIL owns a BL A1 Mini, so I prepared a 3MF with all the correct settings for strength and both sub-parts in the correct orientation for him and his printer. If you don't use a BL machine, you can either try to adapt the file to your needs or use the STLs.

He used PETG for the part. It can get quite warm in the camper and the mechanical stress of turning the knob might make PLA shatter at some point. I guess the knob part itself is not so much the problem, but the long rod if the weak point of the design (and already was in the original). It might profit from printing in a tougher material, like ABS, PC or Nylon. But so far the PETG is holding up just fine.

I tilted the rod 45° to avoid the layer lines running perpendicular to the turning of the knob and the thin walls to just sheer off. At the same time, this should still grip the pin at the end better than laying the rod completely flat.
