MonPoc Flight Toppers

Since you can get all Monsterpocalypse minis from MyMiniFactory, I've been downloading and printing all the pieces.  When I painted and assembled the flying minis onto flight bases, they were extremely fragile and several broke each game.

I saw a product at Likto.com, called a “Flight Topper” which is a reinforcement to put on top of a flight peg to strengthen the joint.  Unfortunately, their product wouldn't work for me due to the custom profile of the miniatures, so I created these.  Since using them, none have fallen off or broken and I can place quite a bit of pressure on the extremeties of the models without worry. 

This set includes toppers for the Hellion, Pteradactrix, Rocket Chopper, Strike Fighter, Sun Fighter, and UCI Jet.   I printed my set on a resin printer using translucent ABS-like resin.

For bases I purchased custom clear acrylic bases (30mm, 3mm thick with 3mm flight peg holes) and 3mm 1" flight pegs from Litko.com.  The flight toppers assume a 3mm peg.

For assembly, I used CYA glue and a spray activator, following these steps.

• Press a peg slightly into the topper and test fit against the model
• Spray the bottom of the model with activator
• Put a drop of CYA glue into the top of the flight topper/peg assembly
• Align and press the assembly against the model and hold for 10 seconds
• Press the model/topper/peg assembly halfway into a base, leaving a small indent on the bottom
• Put a drop of CYA glue into the indent on the bottom of the base
• Spray the bottom of the base with activator
