This knob enables the bowden fitting to be easily unscrewed from the Core One Nextruder. It stays in place by clipping onto the bottom of the bowden bend. No need for a wrench, the large surface is easily gripped with fingers. This knob is an addition, requiring no modification to any other standard Prusa parts, and allows for easier use and maintenance of the Prusa Core One.
I found this also allows a better user experience by disabling the side handle IR filament run out sensor (from the user menu), which reduces end of spool filament waste and eliminates problems with the kink at the end of a spool becoming jammed. Just unscrew the fitting and remove the much shorter length of filament before switching to a new spool.
