My kids keep going through AA batteries on their fairy lights so I decided to use an 18650 LiPo instead. I sourced a battery holder with a switch from Ali Express and then designed a case to holder the battery and the switch with a slide on cover. The negative wire to the switch is really long for some reason, rather than trying to cut and shorten the wire and have a solder joint in the middle, I just made one of the voids in the back of the switch housing big enough to coil the wire in.
Print in pieces and glue together.

Printed in PETG because that's what I prefer and my printer is dialed in for it, no other reason. 20% infill because it doesn't need much
I will be adding another switch housing. My daughters have string lights from Ikea similar to the LEDFYR lights that have 6 hour timer built in which they also want converted to LiPo. This will require a different switch housing which I'll model and print shortly.
